Women’s Social Innovation Luncheon to empower females
The National Monuments Foundation, an Atlanta-based nonprofit that promotes monuments in Atlanta and around the country, will host the Women’s Social Innovation Luncheon with Khaliya Oct. 10 at the Piedmont Driving Club in Midtown. The event will benefit Historic Mims Park in Atlanta and will bring together powerful women in Atlanta to network, celebrate women’s leadership and invest in programs that foster female empowerment. The luncheon’s keynote speaker, Khaliya, will lead a panel discussion about the value of encouraging female entrepreneurship in order to promote community development.
She is the 2016 Middelthon-Candler Peace Prize honoree and the founder of Falkora, an organization that inspires innovation by working with promising ideas and emerging talent.
Khaliya is the first female member of Venture for America’s board and continues to sit on its entrepreneur board, and is also on the advisory boards of other organizations.
The panel’s speakers also include Chiara Tilesi, CEO and founder of We Do It Together, and Lisa Calhoun, CEO and Founder of Valor Ventures. It will be moderated by retired WSB-TV anchor Monica Kaufman Pearson, the 2013 Middelthon-Candler Peace Prize honoree, and hosted by Boog Candler.
The panel will use examples such as the revitalization of Vine City and Historic Mims Park to demonstrate the progress already happening in Atlanta.
Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and the luncheon and opening remarks start at noon, with the panel discussion taking place from 12:10 to 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $150.
